Dear Pastor and Friends,
Greetings from "shaky Chile." IN the past few weeks, we have had two more earthquakes. Not so strong, comparatively speaking, but strong enough and a reminder of how small we really are. They certainly brought back memories of Feb. 27, 2010. We thank God we didn't suffer more damage out at the camp.
I certainly had a busy summer (your winter). I spent two months in the States helping my daughter Karen, at the birth of her son Gabriel. I thank the Lord for another beautiful, healthy, sweet grandson. I was also able to spend some wonderful time with my 85-year-old mother, while my brother David and his wife, her care-givers, took a much deserved and needed month off to travel with their daughter, Kristi and family.
I got back in time to prepare our children's classes for our yearly Easter retreat. We had a very good retreat this year and I thoroughly enjoyed working with the kids and spending time with our church's families. It's such a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time as a church.
The camp has been a blessing to so many churches and ministries. We have camps all summer long and many weekend retreats during the rest of the year. I am so thankful to the Lord for this wonderful ministry, and for the privilege and honor He has given me to work for Him there. We have seen many saved, surrender their lives to Him for ministry and renew their relationships with Him.
The reason I am sharing all of this with you is that through much prayer and soul searching I have felt God's direction in personally taking care of the camp on the weekends that churches are having their retreats. For the past four years I have had a very trusted and wonderful worker out at the camp doing this. This has meant he has lived out at the camp all these years. he will continue working at the camp from Mondays through Fridays but will be coming into Santiago to work at our church on weekends. I will be taking his place out at the camp on weekends.
I really do covet your prayers as I do this, and I am looking forward to it. It will mean a lot of changes in my life, but I think it will be good. I know God will give me the strength and direction I need.
Thank you so much for your support and help. I appreciate you very much, and may God richly bless you for all you do for Him and His cause.
God is Gracious,
Janet Curtis
Dear Friends,
April has been a very busy month, BUT a special blessing. We have had 2 Church Teams come from the States to help us prepare for our 8th. Anniversary of our Saturday Program here at the Camp.
Everybody working together (U.S. and Peruvians) helped us have a very successful day. The U.S. Team visited several little towns all around us giving out invitations AND the Public School here in our town let us go to EVERY classroom to give out invitations.
We had an attendance of 749 participating in the outdoor games, then special Bible Classes for the children and outdoor preaching for the young people and adults.
The visiting Pastor preached (in Spanish) and 16 people responded to the invitation. Today the materials are being prepared for the new believers to help prepare for Christian growth.
Thank you for your support and prayers. We appreciate them both.

Dear Pastor and Friends,
Just before I left Congo for the States for a short furlough, I had a lot of things started that I needed to get back too as soon as possible.
The four room addition to the Bible College was going good and we have the foundation poured and the steel in place. Now we are ready to start laying the bricks and get the roof on. The students are happy to anticipate the extra space for their important studies. I am happy that the Bible College is growing and God is blessing with many new students. When these new students graduate and become pastors that should help me meet my goal of 200 churches.
The Tabazaire Baptist Church is remodeling and adding on to their building. The smaller church was completely packed out and they couldn't grow anymore so it is encouraging to see them doubling the size of their church and we know that many more souls will be saved when the new addition is made. The son of the late pastor has finished Bible School and is now doing a great job pastoring the church.
The Cadestra Baptist Church is now meeting in a longhouse type building and it has been completely packed out for some time and just before I left we laid out the plans to help them build a new church building that will hold 500 people and they are excited. The church is located in a growing area and we are anxious to help them get started on the new building so they can grow and many more people will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and trust Christ as Savior. So please pray with us that God will give us the means, method and strength to get all these needy projects done so the work can continue going forward. I am glad to report that all the 164 churches are doing well and souls are saved and added to the church every week.
Since arriving in the States, I have been busy in conferences and special meetings and now I have some doctors appointments to take care of and some business to attend to and will be teaching in the Bible College and preaching in the churches as they have need for me to do so. I pray we will have time to do some traveling into some remote villages and reaching a lot of new people. That has always been a fruitful ministry and is so satisfying worshiping for many generations.
Thanks so much for your prayers that I will stay strong and in health so I can continue faithfully serving the Lord. My prayers and thanks go to each of you for your faithful support and prayers for the churches and all the work in the Congo.
In His Great Service,
Elmer L. Deal
